The University of Melbourne has a long and successful history in Inter-University Sport. In recent times, the University has been National Champion in 2008, 2012 and 2013 and National runner up on three other occasions in 2009, 2014 and 2017.
Melbourne University Sport provides all enrolled students with the opportunity to represent the University in a variety of regional, national and international sporting competitions.
The University of Melbourne's sporting teams are collectively known as Winged Victory and we are recognized as one of Australia's most successful sporting Universities. The majority of inter-university sporting opportunities are provided through Australian University Sport.

All Melbourne University representative teams, participants and officials must be approved by Melbourne University Sport and teams are to be approved according to the Representative Sport Policy. For a student to be eligible, they must be a currently enrolled student at the University of Melbourne.
