21 May; Liam Petterson

The biggest win of the weekend for the Soccer Club went to the Men’s state league 5 reserves team, who won 10 – 1 against Thornbury Athletic FC. Club President Michael Owen scored a hat-trick. The Women’s state league 1 team were also victorious, winning 3 – 0 against Keilor Park which elevated them to 2nd on the ladder.

It was an interesting weekend of results in Australian Rules Football. MUWFC’s William Buck Premier Women’s team drew against Kew AFC 5.5-35 to 5.5-35 while the Uni Blues drew 12.17-89 with Old Trinity Grammarians 13.11-89.

The Men’s Black Angels basketball team have now secured three wins on the trot, thumping the Sunbury Jets 85 – 50.

The Tennis Club’s Men’s Pennant 3 team enjoyed a win at home against Bundoora, 3-6 – 38 to 1-2 – 24 and now occupy 2nd on the ladder after 5 rounds.

In Lacrosse, the Division 3 Men’s team dominated Williamstown 19 – 4. The Club will be celebrating their 135th anniversary in August this year.

Congratulations to Medicine, Dentistry & Health Sciences student Ella James, who has been selected to compete in the FISU World University Futsal Championship for New Zealand. The competition will take place in Kazakhstan in August.
