New Fitness Facility Improvements
23 January 2014, Peter Walker

With MU Sport Fitness Facilities back in full swing, we are excited to announce the upgrades to our fitness facilities over the break period.

Improvements have been made to the Sports Centre Lazer Room, with 51 brand new Les Mills Smart Steps acquired to help members raise a sweat in our various group fitness classes. In addition, 51 old fitness mats have been replaced and the cardio box tree was upgraded.

“We aim to help our members reach their fitness goals, and to do that we strive to provide the highest quality equipment for our classes”, said Ange La Scala, Group Fitness Coordinator. “The group fitness timetable will be back to full capacity on 3 March, just in time for the start of the University semester”.

The two, multi-purpose stadiums in the Sports Centre have been resurfaced with a polyurethane coating, improving the grip and quality of the surface.  “The stadium resurfacing reflects our commitment to provide first class sporting and recreational facilities to our members, clubs and the sporting community”, says Alex Affleck, Operations Manager.

During the Christmas and New Year closure, MU Sport took the opportunity to perform a thorough, periodic cleaning of all the MU Sport facilities, ensuring that our facilities will be in top condition for the new year.

In addition, If you are a regular at the Beaurepaire Pool, you may have noticed that the pool staff have been sporting striking yellow uniforms since December. The uniform change is a part of the MU Sport’s continuing efforts to improve our pool ratings and safety.
