Late last year, Melbourne University Sport conducted a major upgrade of the Cardio equipment in the Beaurepaire Centre to replace older style equipment. This new equipment also increased the total number of cardio pieces available to members during peak periods.
New equipment installed includes:
- 12 x Treadmills
- 11 x Ellipticals
- 6 x Upright Bikes
- 5 x Spin Bikes
- 1 x Stairmaster Stepmill
- 6 x concept 2 Rowing Ergo's
- 2 x concept 2 Ski Ergo's
- 3 x Airdyne Ergo's
MU Sport has also outfitted a new Functional Zone located on the Mezzanine level of the Beaurepaire Centre Included in this new specialised area are monkey bars, TRX, Gymnastic rings, Kettlebells, medicine balls, sandbags, and plyo boxes, as well as rowing, ski and Airdyne ergo's. This equipment provides a great space to perform functional training, whether that be in the form of strength training or Metcons / conditioning.
In addition, MU Sport has replaced two old squat cages with 2x double racks from Iron Edge. This has increased the number of squat racks available to members during peak times, while providing more pull up space to reduce the need to use the rack mounted pull up stations.
For Group Fitness equipment, the following items were updated:
- All Yoga mats were replaced in January
- All Cardio Box gloves have been replaced
- Secured new snap collars for the Body Pump bars
